Answer:

The Jim Crow laws were a systematically racist set of laws passed and placed by the government to legalize racial segregation and restrict African-Americans from partaking in usual daily services, like healthcare. It restricted a lot of lower-class citizens from being able to do a lot of things we take for granted in modern times, sitting on the bus for example.

"The roots of Jim Crow laws began as early as 1865, immediately following the ratification of the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery in the United States."

During the era of Jim Crow, an African-American male in any of the deep South states would have responded to Jim Crow laws negatively.

Jim Crow laws were laws that legally segregated white and black citizens within a state.

What are the results of Jim crow laws?

This resulted in the creation of separate schools, parks, water fountains, movie theaters, etc. In this case, African-American men in the South would be particularly mad since they were supposed to receive the same protections under the law thanks to the passing of the 14th amendment.

However, the end of federal government regulation of the South in 1877 showed that Reconstruction was going to be a failure in the eyes of African American citizens. These citizens were not going to be able to express their newly received rights in the South.
