Answer:
Creation of Pakistan was inevitable due to the long rule of Muslim Turks in South Asia.
Please do note Central Asian Turkish tribes like Kushans, Huns, etc had ruled parts of Indian sub-continet before, but were Shamans or Animists and were absorbed into Indian culture and society.
The Turks and their Islamic camp followers like Arabs, Persians, North Africans, etc never focused on building a national unified identity during their rule in large part of Indian Sub-Continent (same for Ottomans in Europe).
It was essentially a military junta ruling from garrison cities of one taem or another; Slaves, Khiljis, Tughlaqs, Lodhis, etc Mughals being the last; who sucked resources from the countryside, and the cohesion of the ruling junta was based on shared Islamic faith and fair skin (Travels in the Mugul Empire by Francois Bernier- to be considered a Mogul, it was enough to be fair and be a Muslim)).
The otherness of the ruling gang and its camp followers was never given up, as much as looking at the majority of dark skinned Indians as lesser humans, resulting in Jaziya tax from time to time. Though under more astute leaders like Akbar, persecution was dropped as a policy. Do note the group itself was multi-cultural and multi-racial, Turks, Afghans, Persians, Arabs, North Africans, other Middle Easterns. The top of the group were Syyeds ,Sheiks (Turks/Arabs/Persians), Pathans(Afghans) while the native converts were lower class Siddiqui, Ahmed, Qureishi, etc. The native converts had to pay Jaziya at times, their entry to higher position in the unta was restricted as was marital alliance with the Turko-Persians, who looked down at them; even with shared Islamic faith.
The ruling Turko-Persian elites lost its hold over Indian subcontinent in time to the Marathas and subsequently to the British.
At time of British departure, it was unlikely that these descendants of Turko-Persians, who never really viewed themselves as one people with rest of Indians or equal to them, would accept to share power with these native people and co-habit in peace.
Pakistan is the outcome of the assertion of separateness of these Turko-Persian descendants who were Muslims (though their overall culture had many non-Muslim travelers as well from Munshi Premchand to likes of ex-PM Manmohan Singh, who were sidelined), from native Indians mostly Hindus/Sikhs. However the racist views of this group of people broke them from their native Muslim allies, and Bangladesh got formed.
Pakistan even after its formation shares the confusion of this group, as it has always defined itself as fair skinned and Muslim, but never bothered to dwell more on identity. It defined itself always as not-Hindus/anti-Hindu, which is current Pakistani identity.
The resource stealing culture of the Turko-Persian group is also evident how Pakistani elites either grabs or begs for resources from East Pakistan (which rebelled), Baluchistan(largely suppressed), US,Gulf Arab countries and now from China.
