Every time energy is transferred in an ecosystem, potential energy is lost.
A) as heat.
B) due to weather.
C) because some animals die.
D) when it is recycled back to producers.
Other answers have nothing to do with heat transfer. Energy, not only in ecosystems but usually in any part of reality, when lost is lost as heat. That's just how physics works.
