What are 2 examples of actions the British took between 1775 and 1776 which pushed more Americans toward Independence

Respuesta :

One example is that the British were taxing many goods. Another example is that King George was housing British soldiers on random colonist homes.

Answer:

  • One action was the Stamp Act in 1766. This law imposed a tax on all printed materials. For example, newspaper ads, legal contracts and even on decks of cards. Because of this, the settlers began to protest and organized groups that committed violent acts and looting. At the same time, documents began to be accepted without the corresponding official seal, leaving in the practice the law without effect. The protests led to the Law being repealed in 1766.  But the feeling that the British aspired to deprive the colonists of their rights had already been created in the colonies.
  • Another action was the Declaratory Law, passed by the British Parliament in 1766, established that the colonies were subordinate to Great Britain. In this sense, Parliament could pass any law, and these had to be compulsorily enforced by settlers in the colonies. The reaction in America was of absolute rejection.
