2. "A Dream" by Edgar Allan Poe

To him whose eyes are cast
On things around him with a ray
Turned back upon the past?
The above lines are the example of Enjambment. Enjambment is a line or phrase which run over from one sentence to another without any final punctuation.
3. "A Shadow" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I said unto myself, if I were dead,
What would befall these children? What would be
Their fate, who now are looking up to me
For help and furtherance? Their lives, I said,
The above lines are the example of iambic pentameter. An iambic pentameter is a form of a metrical line in which each line contains five unstressed syllables followed by five stressed syllables. They are usually arranged in an alternating pattern.
