This isn't too tricky if you're familiar with your formulas. Basically, start by putting the two points into the slope formula, which is (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1). Plug in corresponding values and simplify. It's just basic math at that point, but the slope is 3.
From there, use point slope form. That equation is (y - y1) = m(x - x1). You can choose either one of those points to plug in the equation, and then you just simplify. Remember that your slope is m. I'll do it in steps below so that you can see the math for yourself.
(y - (-2)) = 3(x - 1)
(y - (-2)) = 3x - 3
y = 3x - 5
