a world map has a scale of 1/4th of an inch equals 250 miles. You measure the distance between New York, NY and Los Angeles, California and it equals 3 inches. What is the real distance between New York and LA?

So if the map has a scale of 1/4 inch is 250 miles, then what is a full inch. 1/4 times 4 is 1 and then 250 times 4 is 1000. But wait it said 3 inch but we have only one inch so we have to multiply 1000 by three to get 3000. So D would be your answer. Hope I help you understand it!
