Why was the Concordat of Worms an important turning point for the Catholic Church? A bishop in Germany was elected by the pope and than supported the king. This was important because it reached an conclusion between the pope and the king of Germany and increased the Pope's power in Europe but also showed that the Popes power wasn't infinite.
