Nationalism led to overthrow of colonial rule. After decades of living under foreign powers, the people wanted no more. The people never wanted European powers in the first place, is that there was previously no major powers that hated colonialism. During the 19th century, the two most powerful nations hated imperialism, the empires were forced to adapt and release their colonies across the world.
