1. He’s accepting defeat and believes that his heart is now dark. But he does say that he’s a human because he explains that he has human physics, such as “old age,”and “friends,” and what not. And as we should know, most monsters are immortal. Take Satan for example, (In no way do I praise Satan, the fallen angel.) he’s immortal. And we know that most people run away from Monsters, and not befriend them.
