Answer:
The clouds covered the sky on that horrid morning
As the day declined
The hours ticked by without a peek of the sun
In Kokura, the world war II raged on as men fell and women wept
For they did not know what happened in Nagasaki
August 9th was the tearful day
when the bomb hit the dry crusted brown earth.
All 10,000 pounds blasted down
With a horride BOOM!
The earth shook and the trees bent as
22- kiloton blasted through the country side.
Bomb after bomb hit this worn out land
What was one more to make a dint in this earth
As my pa told me long ago how much hate is in this world
This is one more burse that sits in the history books
Sits in the mournful history on the shelf
Working its way into the few minds who read it
Even then few understand it.
Close your eyes for a second and imagine
Imagine standing in a field of sunflowers
The petal gleaming in the sun
Your toes digging themselves in the moist dirt under your feet
Looking up you feel the sun peeking through the clouds
Smiling upon you
All around you the earth its beautiful in its own little way
In the corners of the sky the blue is peaking out slightly
In the distance you hear the fire of guns exploding
You wonder to the back of your mind hypnotized by the firing.
Then you see it the bomb
You see the sun shining off its shiny plutonium body
Slicing through the air
Coming down on the beauty of the earth
You feel the terror sink into you know you can’t do any
For this is your imagination
As it kisses the earth with its killer flare
As it explodes sending fragments of earth around you
After a minuet the ash settles
You start to cry for all around you is destruction
The sunflowers are gone the green grass is gone
All that is left is the sadness of the earth
The blackness and the orange and red fire
Burning the charred ground.
Then you understand
Understand the heart break and destruction this brings
Understand the hate this brings to the to the land
Then you understand the hurt.
