The two characters, however provide examples of similarities and differences regarding their attitudes toward love, traditions, and fidelity, as well as their actions. The two are similar in that they have noble traits, egocentricity and are motivated by the feelings they have for Juliet. The difference between the two is that Romeo sees Juliet as an equal person, while Paris sees himself as superior to her.

  • Romeo is Juliet's romantic partner.
  • Romeo married Juliet without their family knowing.
  • Paris is interested in establishing an arranged marriage with Juliet.
  • Paris is also in love with her.

The two men are very motivated by their feelings, however, Romeo considers Juliet's feelings and wishes, while Paris does not, but believes that only his wishes are enough to make him happy.

Both men die in the end, as does Juliet, ending the tragedy written by Shakespeare.
