Sometimes, both plants and animals can physically change when there is a change in temperature or environment. For example, some plants are really good at surviving in drought-like conditions (cacti). The spikes on the cactus collect water to store for the cactus. Other times, animals (such as the whale or polar bear) have extra thick fur or blubber as insulation when it gets cold. Brrrrrr.
