1. If a genetic is advantageous to the species and helps the species survive and reproduce, the genetic variation is more likely to be passed to the next generation of that species.
2. If a species were to have its evolution come to a halt this would hinder its ability to survive and reproduce therefore causing the extinction of the species because it was not able to meet the demand of survival.
