Technology is a large part of our world today, and we have things like cell phones and computers, and television, and people are even starting to get cars lie Teslas that don't need gas to run. In 1899 (in Newsies), child labor was legal and many kids couldn't go to school instead they had to work to sustain their family. Benefits of being a kid in 2021 is that we can connect with people all over the world online, and we can call up our friends whenever and ask to hang out. However phone apps and video games can be very addicting and can cause kids to have negative behaviors. Also, in 2021 we are in the middle of a pandemic. It's kinda almost over but the children in the year 1899 would never even imagine a worldwide pandemic. A downside of a kid during Newsies is not being as educated as kids are today and having to work instead.
