Well the experience is different for everyone,
It’s challenging for some because it will be there first time not living at home in a new environment.
Students will be going from a 30 student high school class to a 200+ lecture hall leaving the student do everything on their own with no support unless they ask.
High school gives you about 6-8 classes a day but at a university you choose how many you want but it somehow is still more than the work load which is challenging for some students to adapt too

Young people find the transition between school and university challenging due to the fact that they are moving from a place of familiarity to an environment they know little about.

The reason they find this challenging?

This is due to the fact that people sometimes fear change. They fear several things. One of this is that they may not fit into the new environment.

The social climate of the schools is also another reason they may find it challenging.
