In his play Pygmalion, Shaw criticizes the British class system by depicting situations that show that it is nurture, not nature, that influences the worth of a person.

I hope it helps you...

Answer:  Shaw's play not only is the meaning of a rigid social hierarchy but the theme could be the dislike for social wealth.

Explanation:  I found a copy of the full play online so I could read it and analyze with more information.

With my extra information, I have analyzed that Mr. Doolittle likes to challenge the assumption that such a move up the social ladder is not necessarily a good thing. He continually makes fun of the middle class and laments with all the anxieties and troubles that his new wealth brings with it. By the end of the play, Eliza also misses her prior, simpler life as a flower-girl from when she was younger. She doesn’t like being rich and wealthy. All of this information can lead us to our answer.

I hope this helps! Have an amazing day! :)
