Lana is using a can opener to open a can of soup. Every time she twists the knob of can opener the can opens 36 degrees. How many times does Lana have to twist the knob of the can opener to open a can of soup

Respuesta :

The top of a can of soup is a circle, which is 360 degrees around. You need to divide the total degree circumference of the can by the amount that each turn of the knob moves. 360 degrees/36 degrees per turn is 10 turns, which is the solution.

Therefore, the solution is 10 turns.

Lana have to twist the knob of the can opener to open a can of soup [tex]10[/tex] times.

What is circle?

A circle is a shape consisting of all points in a plane that are at a given distance from a given point, the center. It have angle of [tex]360^0[/tex].

We have,

Every time turn of opener [tex]=36^0[/tex]

As mentioned above ,

A circle is of  [tex]360^0[/tex].

So, the top of a can will be of  [tex]360^0[/tex].

So,

According to the question,

Number of turns [tex]=\frac{360}{36} =10[/tex]

i.e. the [tex]10[/tex] number of turns are required to open the top of can.

Hence we can say that Lana have to twist the knob of the can opener to open a can of soup [tex]10[/tex] times.
