Main Idea Writing Practice


In two or three paragraphs, respond to one of the texts in the previous lesson.

Choose one of the main ideas from either of these texts:

President Kennedy’s Inaugural Address
Dr. King’s Letter from Birmingham
State the main idea and give the details that either King or Kennedy used to develop and support that main idea.

Then, either agree or disagree with that main idea and give your own details that support and develop your main idea.
