In my point of view, reading books are one of the best, relaxing and pleasurable activities for anyone. When you read it stimulates your mind and reduces stress. Reading books is much more enjoyable than travelling and I’m going to prove that in this essay.

Firstly, whenever you’re stressed, reading always helps you relax and it’s a fact. Similarly, to meditation, reading a book allows your mind to focus on one thing and simply forget about everything else. The moment you begin to read you slowly drift off into your thoughts and escape from reality. Reading books always reduce stress. Whereas, travelling can be quiet stressful and hectic, because of safety concerns, packing and planning the journey.


Secondly, reading books stimulates your mind and enriches your knowledge. Reading books broadens imagination by stimulating the right side of your brain. Also, it’s an excellent way for your brain to exercise according to Joseph Addison, “reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body”. There are numerous things you can learn and how much intelligence can be gained from reading books is astonishing.

To sum up, briefly, reading books provides you with relaxation and mental stimulation. It’s a pleasurable activity everybody can enjoy, especially, people who are homebodies.
