In the context, Walter who grows up in his childhood in such a Harlem have seen that the African Americans goes to the church regularly and they were noble men. They love their family and share a social responsibility. Besides they are also entertainer. Seeing this Walter started to fell love for the black people and have seen them struggling to get basic civil rights. He tried to help them in their protest and respected them for their lives.
