This makes life difficult for sea snakes in the ocean because sea snakes needs fresh water to become hydrated and the sea water is salty which they can't drink so they depends on the rainfall for drinking purpose.

The sea snakes excrete their nitrogenous wastes via cloaca and some of it from the skin.

The snake excretes solid as well as liquid wastes from the cloaca but sometimes the flow of excreta gets disturbed due to change in the osmolarity between the environment and the body.
The oceanic water is saline which is responsible for changing the osmolarity.
