It isn’t hyphen so the first answer got it wrong. Hyphens' main purpose is to glue words together, for example: Five-year-old.
I think the answer is quotation marks because they are usually used to put in a sentence or short speeches of important people. In stories, you may even find that they are bolder and have a bigger size font than the ordinary text.
