The Hurricane is by far one of the most disastrous natural occurrences ever experienced. More than 60 hurricanes rise from the tropical seas every year and spin over oceans and lands. Hurricanes’ origin is in warm sunny seas in two general areas north and south of the equator.
Hurricanes are unpredictable and extremely dangerous. Not all storms start out as hurricanes. They form out in the ocean near the coast of Africa. Through the hurricanes journey, how fast or slow the storm moves will depend on the weather fueling it.
Hurricanes are cyclones that develop over warm oceans and breed winds that blow up to 74 miles per hour. In the hurricane the mixture of the water and winds can be extremely damaging. The winds are extremely dangerous and usually don’t go faster than about 75 miles per hour but have been documented to go as fast as 85 miles per hour.
Of all of nature’s forces that exist, hurricanes could be considered one of the most powerful of all these forces that can cause tremendous amounts of destruction in a little amount of time. A hurricane is a powerful whirling storm of winds that measure 200-300 miles in diameter.
The hurricane season in the Atlantic Ocean begins runs from June to November, with the majority of activity coming in the middle of that season
