The reason why is that

One side of the triangle has to be less than the sum of the other two sides and greater than the magnitude of their difference.

Rule 1: (side1 + side2) > side3

Rule 2: Side3 < |side1 - side2|

Lets check the fact by adding / subtracting two sides and comparing with the third one..

Case1: 7+ 8 = 15 = length of third side. Rule1 fails

Case2:

8+15 > 7 Rule1 sucess

15–8 = 7 = length of third side. Rule 2 fails.

Case3:

7+15>8 Rule1 success

15–7=8 = length of third side. Rule 2 fails.

So, considering the rules and checking the facts..

it is impossible to create a triangle with above 3 sides.
