Terat and Linan went to the zoo with their grandparents and saw two tigers in side-by-side exhibits. One tiger was white with stripes, and the other was orange with stripes. Terat noticed the signs on the exhibits both said "Bengal Tiger" and wondered why they were different colors if they were the same type of tiger. They read the rest of the sign in front of the white tiger exhibit. The sign explained that there was a relationship between the composition of the proteins in each tiger's genes and the different colors expressed in their coats. They learned the change in protein composition was because of

A. Species evolution
B. Genetic mutation
C. Sunlight exposure
D. Habitat adaptation
