The extra items that you can include in a web resume that would not be included in a traditional resume are graphics, buttons and pictures.
The graphical content and pop ups can make your resume look a bit more interesting with some catchy things hence a greater chance of getting selected.
Also, pictures always make things interesting and easy to read. For example even when reading text books the pictures carry your attention first and then you go out and read whats written about it.
