In my opinion, your self-esteem can variate when it comes to different situations. For example, you can have a high self esteem when it comes to how well you perform in school; however you may have a lower self esteem when it comes to something like sports.
There are many aspects to a person's life, which means that a person can feel quite different about their performance in each different area. For example, a person can feel very confident about his performance at school, which means that he would have a high academic self-steem. However, if he struggles making friends, he could have a low social self-steem. The different combinations reflect how varied human experience can be.
