I did a bit of research (I was not familiar with the French and Indian war, sorry) and found that the French used Guerilla Tactics (aka Guerilla Warfare). Guerilla warfare, from what I've gathered, is spontaneous and sort of like a sabotage carried out by independent forces. Comparing that tactic to the tactics used during the American Revolution, the Patriots were way more organized and thought-out, while the French troops randomly attacked when they could. Hope I could help!
