In this case, the New Deal created federal programs like the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to ensure that people's savings accounts were not completely gone in the event of a bank failure. Along with this, FDR also developed the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in order to regulate the buying and selling of stocks in hopes of preventing another economic collapse like the one the United States suffered during the early 1930's.
