Remember that slope is equal to the "change in Y over the change in X"
In this example, you can think of "y" as the left-hand side of the equation -- "c(w)" -- and "x" as the "1.25w" part of the right-hand side.
Remember that the constants don't affect the slope of the line.
So, in this case, we could simplify and say that: "the slope of the function c(w) is equal to 1.25 multiplied by w"; or, the slope = 1.25.
If you think about it, every time you increase the value of "w" by 1, you increase the value of c(w) by 1.25.
So, the line would slope "up and to the right" as the values of w increase.
