Okay so this is a trick question. Here's why.
You're trying to find two whole numbers that add up to equal 4·(3+7)
First, we need to know that 4·(3+7)=40
-because you add what's in the parenthesis 1st and you get 4(10) which is =40
So now we need two numbers that add up to equal 40. So, really you could use any two numbers for this answer as long as they add up to equal 40.
Like so:
40+0=40
55+-15=40
32+8=40
25+15=40
etc........
Hope this helps! :)
