What does it mean to be 'opposed to the idea' of something? I know I'm a noob for not knowing, but can someone please explain? in english? thank you. <3?

Well I think it means to not like the idea but you may still consider it something like that.

It means that someone is against or disagrees to that idea. It is similar to "I don't like the sound of that..." but in a stronger sense. 

Example: I'm opposed to the idea of invading Iraq.
