Sustainable development is a socio - economic and environmental friendly long-lasting development which has a capacity to continue any development works fulfilling the present needs with considering the future generation needs also. The Nepal government has been adopting the following measures to sustainable development :
- Environment Impact Assessment ( EIA ) is compulsory before implementing development projects.
- To enhance the efficiency and capacity of bureaucracy , an integrated development strategy action plan has been developed.
- The internal loan and grants related to climate change and environment protection have been included in the national budgetary system.
- Human activities and development activities are made towards the concept of sustainable development.
- The collaboration and coordination among national and international organizations and agencies have been encouraged to achieve the goal of sustainable development.
- Government is going to implement the principle " The one who pollutes has to pay ".
