Why do you think the top carnivores, that are tertiary consumers, cause there to be an increase thenumber of different types of species found in the ecosystems they live in?
Top carnivores don't eat everything in the ecosystem which would let the uneaten species able to evolve and become new species (I don't know I'm just guessing sorry if this is wrong)
