So Im a story writer and Im asking my fellow writers this question: When you are writing something a character said in quotes, (Ex. "Of course I finished my homework." Emily said.) do you put a period or a comma at the end of what theyre saying??? (Ex. "Of course I finished my homework." Emily said.) OR "Of course I finished my homework," Emily said.
