The monster study conducted in 1939 was a certain stuttering experiment that was done by Wendell Johnson on 22 Orphan at the University of Iowa, United States. Eleven of the children got positive speech therapy while the other half was seen to have negative speech therapy which belittled them for their speech imperfections.

The experiment was called monster because many people were horrified that such experiments could be done on children who were orphans.
