Respuesta :

Humanism was the first step to the making of humanistic paintings instead of godly, or mythological. An example of a painting centering in humanism could be two people dancing, instead of an angel or mythological creature. It was the beginning to an era.
So I would choose either A or D, honestly I'm quite sure.
Hope this helps.

Answer:

The correct answer is D. Artists depicted religious figures in earthly settings rather than gold backgrounds.

Explanation:

High Renaissance was a period of great artistic production in Rome and Florence, during the last decade of the 15th Century and 1520. Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo were some of the main artists during this period. Humanism during Renaissance looked again at Greek and Roman cultures as well as it moved forward from medieval scholasticism.

Letter D is correct since there are many examples in art where religious figures are set in earthly settings. Even though some characters in pictures, as in John the Baptist from Salaì, Da Vinci's pupil, where the Baptist is in a forest with a mountain in the back. John is very similar to the one that appeared in a painting entitled the same by his master. Another example would be The Virgin with Child and Saint Anne, where not only the background seems earthly but also infant Jesus' takes human attitudes since it seems that he is playing with an animal and he doesn't want to stop.
