In this exercise we have the concept of the imperfect tense (el imperfecto) that is used to describe past habitual actions or to talk about what someone was doing when they were interrupted by something else. In general, the imperfect is used to talk about past actions, conditions, or events that occurred regularly or frequently or that were in progress in a moment in the past. It is also used to tell time, talk about dates, give a person's age, and describe features, conditions, and feelings in the past. There are two forms in this verbal tense, namely: Regular Imperfect Forms and Irregular Imperfect Forms.
In Spanish, you can recognize only two sets of endings for regular imperfect, one for ar verbs and one for both er and ir verbs. If you want to conjugate a regular verb in the imperfect tense in Spanish, you need to remove the infinitive ending (ar, er, or ir) and add the imperfect ending that matches the subject, as indicated in Table 1 (below).
On the other hand, in the imperfect tense, there are only three verbs with irregular conjugations, namely: ir, ser, and ver. This is shown in Table 2 (below).
So let's solve this problem.

The right answer is b. cantar
As you can see in Table 2, both ser and ver are verbs with irregular imperfect conjugations. So cantar is a verb with regular imperfect form.
3. Which of the following would be the imperfect of the verb in parentheses?
The right answer is a. eran. So:
Uds. eran guapos y rubios. (ser)

4. ¿Cuál de estos animales no es un gato?
The right answer is c. iguana
Both leopard and tiger are felines. So iguana (also iguana in English) is a reptile.

Notice that the verb ending in Table 1 for the third-person singular is aba.
6. How would you say "I used to sing" using the verb cantar?
In the imperfect tense it would be:

Keep in mind that this verb has a regular imperfect form. See Table 1 for the verb ending, that is aba for the pronoun Usted (Ud)

This verb also has an irregular imperfect form as indicated in Table 2.
9. Write the verb in parentheses in the imperfect tense.
Los monos vivían en la jungla. (vivir)
This verb has a regular imperfect form and the ending of it is ir. See Table 1.
10. Write the verb in parentheses in the imperfect tense.
Nosotros no comíamos nada. (comer)
This verb has a regular imperfect form. So we use Table 1 to write the sentence.
11. Write the verb in parentheses in the imperfect tense.
Tú bailabas mucho en el club de jóvenes. (bailar)
This verb has also a regular form. Keep in mind that the ending is ar, so using Table 1 we can write the sentence.
12. Write the verb in parentheses in the imperfect tense.
El oso comía las hojas verdes. (comer)
This verb was used in 10, but in this sentence we use the third-person singular.

Yo estaba en México. (estar)
This verb was used in sentence 7. Now we use it for the first-person singular.
