i believe the american government does too little for its citizens because look at the coronavirus as an example. we have coronavirus cases all around the country, and it doesn't seem like that will end anytime soon. many deaths could've been prevented, and americans are being badly affected.
- small businesses can barely survive
- elderly/people with underlying conditions dying/more at risk
- people with weak immune systems dying/more at risk
- schools closed or switched completely to virtual learning (which not every student can adapt to)
- industries suffering (such as the travel, movie, and restaurant industries)
- fear to go out anywhere (doctors or other appointments, even grocery stores)
so right now, the government is doing too little for its citizens and TOO MUCH for itself. politicians are still making money and taking time off while ordinary citizens are suffering. no end in sight so far.
