Let the width be x, double the width is 2x, then the length is 2x - 5

Perimeter = 2(l + w) = 2(2x - 5 + 2x) = 2(4x - 5) = 8x - 10 = 272
8x = 272 + 10 = 282
x = 282/8 = 35.25

Therefore, width is 35.25 yards and length is 2(35.25) - 5 = 65.5
