It depends on the crime. If it is a crime involving sexual crimes against children then yes they should be out of their own children’s lives. Any type of violent acts against children should be considered too.

I agree with the speakers statement. As many have pointed out, that one mistake or the decisions of the past should not put crippling restrictions on one's future. Incarceration is atonement for one's crimes, they already are isolated from the daily functions of society. However, keeping them from their loved one's and children is taking things too far.
