Indirect democracy is a popular type of democratic system. In this system, the voters/people choose a group of representatives/delegates to represent them at the higher level.
This type of democracy is also called representative democracy where the people elect their own representatives on their behalf.
Here, the twelve members of the student council voting on a homecoming theme is also an example of indirect democracy as they have been elected by the students to represent them in the committee/students' council.
