I had a doubt Is 4/8 a rational number Because my text book says that a rational number must have no other common factor than 1 But 4/8 has a common factor of 2 4/8=1/2 1/2 is rational but is 4/8 rational?
Since teachers and other sources will tell you to simply the fraction down, you will get 4/8 equal 1/2. If they are the same value, and 1/2 is rational, then 4/8 is rational as well.
