TROPISM:

Tropism is the movement of a plant or part of a plant in response to stimulus (light, heat, water).

A plant's response to light is called phototropism while plants response to gravity is called geotropism.

Ideally, a plant's shoot is positively phototropic while a plant's root is positively geotropic. Hence, if a light source is placed under a plant, the plant would respond positively to gravity.
