atoms that are closely packed together and don't move around very
much. Solids also have definite shape, mass and volume. "Definite"
means that it doesn't easily change. When you pour cereal into a bowl,
the pieces of cereal don't change shape. But when you pour milk into a
bowl, the milk takes the shape of the bowl. That's because cereal is a
solid.
