Respuesta :

Name

Date: May 1st

Date completed: May 12th

Hypothesis: I believe the seeds will grow 1-2 feet based on my research

Procedure: I put my seeds in small pots and put on a self I have outside in the sun. They can absorb good sunlight this way

Growth of seeds: all varied but stayed within 3 feet

Type of seeds:
1. Cornflowers

Growth
Day 3: about 2 inches
Day 6: about 5 inches
Day 9: about 12 inches
Day 12: about 22 inches
Day 15: about 34 inches

Interpretations: cornflower- the meaning is wealth, prosperity, fortune and friendship.

I don’t know what was asked in the lab...

Conclusion: my hypothesis was kind of correct. My cornflowers grew to be over 2 feet, but not by much. Some even stayed under, but not by much I say again. This was a fun and educational experience and I learned a lot about this wonderful plant. I hade no idea that it was even a real thing before this project! I learned that different flowers grow at different paces, even if they get the same amount of sunlight and water.

Answer:

Hypothesis: If I keep the seeds well-watered, then the plants will emerge quicker and healthier.

I conducted this experiment in our family garden with the following plants:

Tomatoes

Parsley

Green Beans

Basil.

Procedure: I monitored the plants for 14 days from the first day they came up. I planted all the seeds on the same day and carefully misted them each one time per day until I saw them come up. I continued to water them once per day and sketched them every three days. I monitored their growth in my sketches. I have attached a photo of the dissected seeds. For the dissected ones I did a bean seed and a pea seed.

Results: Tomatoes: came up in five days.

Beans: came up after seven days.

Basil: came up after eight days.

Parsley: came up after ten days.

Height of plants:

Tomatoes

day 3: 1.2 cm

day 6: 4 cm

day 9: 6.4 cm

day 12: 9.5 cm

Green Beans

day 3: .75 cm

day 6: 2 cm

day 9: 3.5 cm

day 12: 5 cm

Parsley

day 3: 1 cm

day 6: 2.3 cm

day 9: 3

day 12: 4

Basil

day 3: .75 cm

day 6: 1.5 cm

day 9: 2 cm

day 12: 3.5 cm

Discussion: I was pretty surprised by how early they came up. I believe that one of the reasons may be because I didn't plant the seeds deep enough. My parsley plants also began falling over once they grew taller which is probably also due to the fact of not planting them deep enough. So even though they came up quickly, they were not as sturdy as I had anticipated they would be.

This is what I submitted for mine. hope this helps!
