Though these organisms share physical features like embryology, anatomy, and morphology, but they differ in the function of these features. These organisms shared ancestors with a similar skeletal framework that changed over a period of time.
The birds and theropods evolved from a common ancestor and hence has similarity in the presence of a tail in the embryos, hollow and light bones that makes them able to fly easily with their wings, and the rearrangement of the leg muscles for bipedal movement.
Therefore, the birds and theropods share similar physical attributes and are homologous.
