The reason is as humans they will do anything in order to survive: to get food to eat, money for education and health services.  People with poor access to education, health services, social support, and other basic services are at greater risk of not only committing a crime but committing it much more frequently. People commit crimes to meet their needs. Most crime is committed by. Having the ability to get and keep a job and a stable living place are the most vital components of preventing crime.
