Also known as the Sepoy Rebellion declared Bahadur Shah II as emperor.

The rebels declared “bahadur shah ii” as emperor of India. In 1857, a rebellion against the British rule took place in India. This rebellion was also called “Sepoy mutiny”. Several reasons lead to this rebellion; one of them was the increasing “westernization”, especially religious beliefs. Even though the rebellion was unsuccessful, it was seen as The First War of Independence in South Asia.
